Meenakshi Sheshadri, who had done films with big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Jitendra, Vinod Khanna in the 80-90s, said that she was very happy when she was offered Dacait opposite Sunny Deol in 1987. He tried to work brilliantly throughout the film but he did not get good money.
During a conversation with Friday Talkies, Meenakshi Sheshadri revealed how director Rahul Rawail had refused to give her money at that time. At the time of signing of the film, on one hand Meenakshi Sheshadri was happy that she is getting such a big film, on the other hand the director had told her about the money – I am not giving you much money. You are working with me, this is your price. Whatever I give you, keep it happily.
Meenakshi Sheshadri said that since she was a fan of the direction of Rahul Rawail, who made great films like Betaab, Arjun and Love Story, she had signed the film with a smile and crying.
